May 31 - Many students have offered to volunteer in the Asian Games. As well, foreign students are also given the opportunity to take part and they have responded enthusiastically. Here is the story about a Korean girl Koo Hee Ah who came to China eight years ago.
Koo Hee Ah on Campus
Koo Hee Ah is my classmate from whom I feel the great influence of the Asian Games. She has applied for city volunteer during the Asian Games. If she gets selected, she is will help people in three languages: Korean, Chinese and English.
As she said, she is interested in being a volunteer because it can largely enrich her experience and broaden her horizons. What's more, she can utilize her trilingual advantage. Through her communication with friends from around Asia, she can pitch in for the friendly and harmonious Asian Games and when thinking about the bigger picture; a more harmonious Asia. From her perspective, the promotion of the Guangzhou Asian Games is quite successful because she is interested in the five lovely mascots that represent Cantonese culture and even Chinese culture.
Koo Hee Ah
When it comes to sports that Korea excels in, Koo Hee Ah named quite a few, like shooting, Judo, Archery, Taekwondo and Golf. Badminton is especially popular in Korea, much like in China. Yu - na Kim, the Figure Skating champion highly honored in Korea, is also her idol. She said that she strives and takes great efforts for pursuing dreams which encourage her.
After talking with Koo Hee Ah, I can see how sports meetings do bring people together, work to exchange cultures and build friendships.
