GDUFS Signs MOU with City University Ajman

On the afternoon of May 13, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) held an online meeting with City University Ajman (CUA), represented by CUA President Imran Khan. GDUFS President Yan Xiangbin attended the meeting. Both sides exchanged views on talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and cultural exchange, culminating in the signing of a cooperation framework agreement (MOU).

President Yan Xiangbin greeted the representatives from CUA and provided a detailed overview of the significant achievements GDUFS has made in international exchange and cooperation. He emphasized that, as one of the “high-level universities with major development support in Guangdong Province”, GDUFS has always maintained distinctive international characteristics and established close cooperative relationships with numerous universities worldwide. He pointed out that with the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Arab countries, both universities should seize this opportunity to strengthen their cooperation, keep consolidating their friendly relations, and drive the implementation and substantial development of collaborative projects. Yan looks forward to further deepening exchanges in various fields, exploring multidimensional cooperation, contributing to cultural exchange between China and Arab countries, and jointly advancing higher education in both countries to new heights.

President Imran Khan thanked GDUFS for the warm greetings and provided a comprehensive introduction to CUA’s educational initiatives and internationalization strategy. He noted that, internationalization is a strategic focus for CUA, and the university greatly values its cooperation with GDUFS. Against the backdrop of friendly cooperation between China and Arab countries, the MOU signed by the two universities marks an important new beginning for strategic cooperation in higher education between the two countries and lays a solid foundation for future in-depth collaboration. Khan highly praised GDUFS’s international features and expressed his desire for more opportunities in scientific research cooperation, student exchanges, and faculty collaborations with GDUFS.

Directors from GDUFS’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and Faculty of Asian and African Studies were present at the meeting.
