Delegation of the Royal Danish Consulate General in Guangzhou Visits GDUFS

On the afternoon of March 26th, Consul General Soren Bindesboll and his delegation from the Royal Danish Consulate General in Guangzhou paid a visit to GDUFS. Vice President Shen Minghao welcomed them at the VIP Lounge of the Administration Building on Baiyun Mountain Campus. The meeting served as a platform for both parties to discuss ways to further enhance exchanges and cooperation between our university and Danish counterparts in education and culture, with a focus on promoting greater synergy between industry, academia and research.

Vice President Shen Minghao extended a warm welcome to Consul General Soren Bindesboll and his team, providing an overview of our university’s academic profile, internationalization efforts, and the achievements of our Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. He emphasized GDUFS’s dedication to fostering high-quality international partnerships with universities, research institutions, and international organizations globally, aiming to carve out a distinctive international identity. Shen expressed aspirations for closer collaboration with Danish universities to explore new paths for educational innovation, aiming to nurture more talented individuals with global perspectives and a competitive edge. Additionally, he underscored the strategic importance of the Greater Bay Area and our university’s pioneering role in establishing the first research institute dedicated to GBA affairs, contributing significantly to regional development. Looking forward, GDUFS is committed to enhancing exchanges and partnerships with international counterparts, with a special focus on deepening cooperation with esteemed universities and institutions in Denmark, thereby jointly advancing educational innovation and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Consul General Soren Bindesboll conveyed gratitude for the warm reception and appreciated our university’s discipline construction, internationalization achievements, and contributions to promoting educational and cultural exchanges between Denmark and China. He highlighted the longstanding history of bilateral exchanges and stressed the significance of friendly cooperation across various sectors including economy, education, and culture. Consul General Soren Bindesboll recognized GDUFS as a key platform for promoting international cooperation and affirmed the Royal Danish Consulate General in Guangzhou’s commitment to facilitating deeper engagement between Danish universities and institutions with GDUFS.

During the discussions, both sides delved into policy matters concerning the Greater Bay Area. Vice President Shen Minghao provided detailed insights to address queries from the delegation, enriching their understanding of regional policies and bolstering the Greater Bay Area’s international influence. Consul General Soren Bindesboll remarked that the meeting had paved the way for enhanced participation of Danish enterprises in economic and trade exchanges within the Greater Bay Area.
