Delegation of the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou Visits GDUFS

On the morning of March 14th, Consul General Hege Araldsen and her delegation, from the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou visited our university. Vice President Shen Minghao welcomed the guests in the VIP Lounge of the Administration Building on Baiyunshan Campus. They discussed topics such as cultural exchanges and educational cooperation.

Vice President Shen Minghao expressed his warm welcome to Consul General Hege Araldsen and her delegation, and introduced in detail the outstanding achievements of GDUFS in international talent cultivation and other aspects. He pointed out that our university, as an important base in South China for international talent cultivation, foreign language and literature studies, global economic governance, foreign-related legal research, and international dissemination of Chinese culture, has made full use of its multidisciplinary advantages to actively explore and innovate talent cultivation modes. With a focus on multilingual and interdisciplinary majors, we aim to cultivate composite talents with an international perspective. Shen Minghao emphasized that GDUFS and Norwegian higher institutions like the University of Oslo have a lot of common ground in international talent cultivation and discipline construction. He expressed his wish to expand cooperation with Norwegian universities and research institutes in the future, jointly building a platform for friendly exchanges between Chinese and Norwegian universities so as to contribute more to the development of liberal education in China and Norway.

Consul General Hege Araldsen expressed her heartfelt gratitude for our warm reception and spoke highly of our remarkable achievements in international talent cultivation, interdisciplinary construction, and scientific research. She said that Norwegian universities are very much looking forward to cooperating with GDUFS on global issues and jointly creating influential academic results. By deepening cooperation in various fields and promoting exchanges between faculties and students of Norway and China, educational cooperation between the two countries can be steadily advanced.
