Delegation from Hanoi University of Vietnam Visits Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

On November 17, NGUYEN VAN TRAO, President of Hanoi University (HU) of Vietnam, and his delegation visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of GDUFS, met with the guests. The two sides exchanged views on deepening inter-school cooperation and strengthening friendly exchanges.

Shi Youqi said that China and Vietnam are geographically close and culturally connected while sharing close friendship. GDUFS has a well-developed Vietnamese major training system and has cultivated many outstanding talents for bilateral cultural, economic and trade exchanges between China and Vietnam. Since the cooperation agreement was renewed in September, the two universities have continued to promote exchanges of Vietnamese major and cooperation in Southeast Asian studies. Shi Youqi emphasized that he hoped that in the future, based on good cooperation, both universities would continue to develop friendships, expand fields of cooperation, promote the flow of talents and resources in the field of higher education, and make new achievements.

NGUYEN VAN TRAO expressed his praise for the discipline construction and talent training of GDUFS. He stressed that in recent years, the exchanges and cooperation between both sides have continued to develop, and he hoped that both sides would continue to deepen their cooperation in the future, work together in various cooperation with high efficiency, and jointly write a new blueprint for cultivating high-quality talents.

 Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, Faculty of Asian and African Studies, and Institute for International Education attended the meeting. After the meeting, the delegation discussed cooperation with the above-mentioned departments and met with teachers and students of the Vietnamese major.
