Delegation from Deakin University of Australia Visits Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

On the morning of November 21, Shen Wei, Vice President of Deakin University (DU) of Australia, visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Vice President Jiao Fangtai met with the guests in the VIP hall of the administration building of Baiyunshan Campus. The two sides exchanged views on internationalization, school running experiences and deepening inter-school cooperation.

Jiao Fangtai welcomed Shen Wei and gave a detailed introduction to the current international education situation of GDUFS. He said that GDUFS continues to consolidate the concept of international education, build an internationalization education system, strengthen the internationalization process and intensity of international certification, strengthen the construction of an international teaching team, and establish many Confucius Institutes and other overseas education institutions. Soon, the school will vigorously promote Sino-foreign cooperation education in the programs and institutions and build a high-end internationalization education cooperation platform. He especially thanked DU for its support in cultivating the internationalization talents of GDUFS and congratulated DU on its recent achievements in internationalization education. He emphasized that GDUFS attaches great importance to its cooperative relationship with DU and hopes to build on the long-standing friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities in order to further internationalization cooperation in promoting international talent training, scientific research presentations, project cooperation, and continue to deepen friendship, jointly writing a new chapter in the internationalization education of the two schools.

Shen Wei expressed his gratitude for the welcome and introduced the overseas education and internationalization education experience of DU. He praised the internationalization roadmap of GDUFS, saying that DU and GDUFS have a profound cooperative friendship and fruitful cooperation results. He expected that in the future, the two universities would carry out in-depth cooperation through complementary resource advantages, further tap the potential of cooperation, and promote the development of the two alumni. Good cooperation will achieve greater success and yield more fruitful results.
