May 18 - A delegation from the George Fox University (GFU) visited our school's MBA Education Center last week. The guests were GFU's Office of Academic Affairs Provost Dr. Patrick Allen, Special Assistant to the President Mr. Fred Gregory, School of Education Dean Dr. Linda Samek, International Studies Program Chair Dr. Tom Head, China and East Asia Programs Director Dr. Thomas Peng, and Executive MBA program Director Mr. Jeff Vandenhoek. GDUFS's International Office Director Jiao Fangtai together with MBA Education Center Executive Dean Sun Jianjun and Associate Dean Wu Yiming welcomed the guests.

Dean Sun mentioned that last year's seminar on leadership which was held at GFU impressed him. He also mentioned Dr. Peng's visit to our school in March of this year, which paved the way for cooperation between the two schools on teacher and student exchange programs, as well as research. He expressed his hope that the two schools would be able to collaborate on "1+1" Program, which can provide our students the opportunities to spend one year studying at GDUFS then another at GFU. He also briefed the guests on our school's student enrollment, teaching staff, and education philosophy.

Provost Allen remembered the GFU President to our school's staff.  Provost Allen pointed out that last year's seminar at GFU began a friendship between the two schools, which now shows considerable potential for cooperation. He said he marveled at GDUFS's MBA Education Center for its successful development in just three years. He expressed his appreciation for the Center's adopting instruction in English. He also gave an introduction to GFU and proposed cooperation on an exchange program with our school.

Director Vandenhoek commented that our school's MBA Education Center has a international education flavor and has a lot in common with GFU's, thereby providing a sound basis for cooperation.

Besides, GFU has cooperated with our school's International College since May 2008. The cooperation touches on majors such as economics, accounting, and international business.
