Nov 30th-On Nov 17th, Spanish Consul General of Guangzhou, Carlos C. Morales, visited the South China Business College where he was warmly received by the Vice President of South China Business College Lai Zhida.
Vice President Lai extended warm welcome to Carlos and briefed him the general condition of the college. Mr. Lai said that the college has adhered to the principle of "Stressing on the basic, the professional, foreign languages and practice" since the Spanish major was founded, and has focused on cultivating all-rounded talents of Spanish major. Up to now, the major is armed with excellent teaching resources both academically and materially, and the number of students is also growing steadily.
Carlos spoke highly of the teaching achievement SCBC has made, and was introduced detailed information such as the Spanish curriculum setting, students" internship and students" exchange oversea of SCBC. He said the Consulate General of Spain will offer some help for Spanish major students on internship home and aboard.
After that, Carlos C. Morales held communication with the Spanish major students at the meeting hall. Carlos introduced the detailed Spain region division, general condition of the economic, custom, main characteristics of Spanish and some folk culture through interesting pictures and videos. At last, he introduced some information about Spanish high school by comparing Chinese and Spanish education system.
In the interacting section, students put up their hands actively and Carlos answered with patience and humor which livened up the atmosphere and won rounds of applause. Carlos praised "Bien hecho" (very good) after watching the poem reciting brought by Spanish major student.
Finally, Carlos and students talked cordially and took photos. Students said the communion informed them more knowledge of Spain and enhanced their confidence in Spanish studies.
This visiting has also attracted the reporters from Guangdong International Channel to report and the director praised the students for their excellent English and Spanish in the interview.
