President Zhong Weihe discussing with Dean Morry Nagler
Morry first gave a briefing on the curriculum, faculty, students, liberal education and diploma certificate offered at the Haas School of Business. Haas is mainly composed of international students with non-degree educations. It has established partnerships with many renowned Asian universities, offering high quality education to students while catering to the needs of global development.
Moreover, contiguous with Silicon Valley, the University of California-Berkeley is devoted to providing high level education to experts with skillful expertise but who are lacking in managerial knowledge. Morry pointed out that with the development of the world economy, a growing number of students realize that furthering their study in this way is not just a means to experience foreign culture and life, but rather a way of upgrading oneself.
President Zhong Weihe agreed that, "Studying overseas is not just for a certificate, but for a chance to enhance one's all-round abilities. English teaching is the most prominent feature of GDUFS' MBA programs. With a good command of English, students can better position themselves in the trend of international trade." He also shared, "For the time being, Guangdong province is undergoing a transitional stage, from manufacturing to product designing, from designing to innovating. These all require high level education. Established on innovative ideas, GDUFS' MBA program is focusing on the combination of industry development and market needs, relentlessly upgrading new ideas and offering practical education for the purpose of bettering the positions for students in the international market." President Zhong Weihe pointed out that GDUFS is considering setting up an EMBA program and hoping to learn from the Haas School of Business' experience.
