October 25th--- The Vice President of Pyongyang Foreign Languages University (PFLU), Mr. Hong Qingxie, accompanied by a delegation of six people, visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) at the invitation of President Zhong Weihe. This is the first time for a DPRK delegation to visit GDUFS.

President Zhong and Vice President Liu Jianda greeted the distinguished guests at the North Campus accompanied by Mr. Jiao Fangtai, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Mr. Chen Yanhui, Director of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, and Mr. Liang Xuehong, dean of the Institute for International Education of GDUFS.
During the meeting
"Meeting twice is enough to know a new friend."President Zhong said recalling the warm experience when a GDUFS Delegation visited PFLU last year, extending his greetings and appreciation. He then presented Mr. Hong a brief introduction to GDUFS's history, discipline construction and international achievements. He pointed out that, as universities both focusing on language education, PFLU and GDUFS share many similarities. Though the Korean language and culture is still a relatively young major in GDUFS, it has already made huge progress. Today, GDUFS has already ranked top among Chinese universities offering a Korean major.

Mr. Hong Qingxie first offered his sincere thanks for the warm greeting. He mentioned that, though PFLU and GDUFS are situated far from each other, their concepts of education have always been closely aligned. After GDUFS's visit last year, PFLU has been waiting for an opportunity to return the visit. He also emphasized that, October 25th, the day of the visit is very meaningful as it was the day when Kim Il-sung inspected PFLU in 1968 and also the memorial day of the Korean War. He hoped that the friendship between our two countries could continue just as the friendship of the two schools has. As the only university that provides Chinese as a curriculum, PFLU was sure that this visit would have a great impact on its following development as well as the mutual cooperation.
