Vice President of Philadelphia University, U.S. Visits GDUFS to Negotiate Cooperation and Exchange Programs

The Vice President of Philadelphia University, a U.S. university, Christine Greb and her assistant Meng Xixi visited GDUFS on the morning of October 24th and were met by President Zhong Weihe at the VIP Hall on the North Campus. The Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Jiao Fangtai; Secretary General of Alumni Association and Education Development Fund of Board of Directors, Xie Weiguang and Deputy Dean of the International College, Liu Ming, were also present at the meeting.

 

President Zhong Weihe gave Vice President Greb a brief introduction of GDUFS, suggesting that our university has set the strategic goal of developing this institution into a high-level university with strategically distinct features of internationalization and has been proactively training international talents by encouraging students to go aboard, and by promoting multiple types of student cooperation and exchange programs with colleges and universities overseas.

President Greb pointed out the many similarities in the ideas of the two universities, including that of providing more opportunities for students to expand their horizons and training them to become international talents. She also pointed out that Philadelphia University boasts a comfortable and quiet environment, beautiful views of the city and surroundings and a long history, and that it has founded the International Students Federation where Chinese overseas students could communicate conveniently with students from all over the world. President Greb chose GDUFS as their first partner in China and hoped that a close relationship can be founded between the two universities.

 

Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Jiao Fangtai noted that the trend of globalization is inevitable, wherein both sides should continually enhance their cooperation agreements. And Deputy Dean of International College, Liu Ming suggested that negotiations on exchange programs for undergraduate students and MBA students that have started are found attractive by students from both sides.
