Apr. 2nd--- FENG Dan and YANG Chen, both Juris Masters, have just come back from the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China). They have been selected by GDUFS as the first two interns from our University to UNA-China.

UNA-China has no tradition of accepting non-Beijing internship applications. But the 10th China National Model United Nations (CNMUN), which was held at GDUFS last year, brought new faces to the Association. During the 10th CNMUN, 130 GDUFS volunteers outstandingly accomplished their work, including communicating with judges, greeting delegates, and as conference participants.  Their performance was appreciated by both the contestants and the officials from UNA-China. FENG Dan and YANG Chen were selected from the 130 volunteers.

A Brief Introduction to UNA-China

The United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) is the only non-governmental organization in China committed to the promotion of the purposes and principles enshrined in Charter of the United Nations. Its membership is open to the general public and social entities that are enthusiastic about the cause of the UN. UNA-China's Council consists of former senior diplomats with extensive experience in the UN, renowned scholars specialized in UN studies, and entrepreneurs who are keen on promoting the cause of the UN.

UNA-China is one of the founding members of the World Federation of the United Nations Associations (WFUNA), and the first of its kind in China enjoying General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is associated with the Department of Public Information (DPI) of the UN and also a full member of the Conference of the Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (Co-NGO).

The purposes of UNA-China are to disseminate information about the UN, to promote comprehension, research and popularization of UN endeavors and activities; to help realize the purposes and principles of the UN Charter; to enhance mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation among peoples of all nations, and to contribute to the maintenance of world peace and common prosperity.
