"Chinese Bridge" Competition First Took Place in Confucius Institute in Peru

The first "Chinese Bridge" Competition (Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students) in Universidad Catolica De Santa Maria was held on April 22nd, so as to elect elite foreign students from its institute to participate in the heats of "Chinese Bridge" Competition in Peru sector.

In this competition, four recommended contestants came to compete with each other. The first round is Q&A part, in which the contestants were questioned on subjects about Chinese culture and Chinese language, and gave answers. The second part is Speech-each contestant was required to deliver a three-minute impromptu speech on topic "Chinese Language and me". At last, the contestants presented their talents related to Chinese culture, for example Chinese traditional music and songs display, and Chinese poems recitement.

Finally, MAO Luxiu(Peru student) won the first place for his overall outstanding proficiency in Chinese, while LI Tianqi and LI Sha ranked the second and the third. YI Zongyong, Dean of Instituto Confucio De Universidad Catolica De Santa Maria(Confucius Institute), awarded these contestants and encouraged them to work harder in the following competition and further language learning.

 

"Chinese Bridge" Competition:

Chinese Proficiency Competition, or known as "Han Yu Qiao" in Chinese, is sponsored and held by Confucius Institute (Kong Zi Xue Yuan). "Chinese Bridge" Competition owns four major branches: Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students, Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China and Chinese Proficiency Competition for Business. The competition welcomes foreign Chinese learners worldwide to show their talents and language proficiency. At present, Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students is held in its 13th year.
