Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster Visits GDUFS

On the afternoon of May 14th, GDUFS President ZHONG Weihe met with Andrew Atherton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University and Steve Bradley, Vice Chancellor, in the VIP room of the Administration Building to negotiate cooperative projects.

 

GDUFS Vice-president FANG Fanquan, Dean of International College, CHEN Linhan and Deputy Director of International Office of Cooperation and Exchange, CAI Hong, also attended the meeting.

ZHONG Wei shared the idea that GDUFS is proactively contacting with the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Education Department and the Provincial Government to promote the establishment of a joint GDUFS-Lancaster University campus. Moreover, based on the existing projects of a psychology dual-degree program, GDUFS hopes to cooperate with Lancaster in more majors for undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D students. Too, ZHONG congratulated the guests on the 50th anniversary of Lancaster, and invited them to attend the celebration activity of GDUFS's 50th anniversary next year.

 

Andrew Atherton inquired about the progress of the establishment of the joint GDUFS-Lancaster University campus and expressed his willingness to make whatever efforts he could that would help advance the project. Then, he shared their experience in preparing for the anniversary, including making plans in advance, taking advantage of social media and organizing alumni activities.

Later, Andrew Atherton and Steve Bradley had further negotiations with the International College and International Office of Cooperation and Exchange, regarding other planned projects.
