Experts and Scholars from Foreign Universities Discuss Internationalized Education at GDUFS

The 3rd International Conference on the Internationalization of Higher Education was held at GDUFS on the 22nd of June this year. Experts and scholars from foreign universities met and talked about how to deepen the cooperation on the Internationalization of Higher Educational.

 

According to the recent years' research and practice of Educational Internationalization in GDUFS, President ZHONG shared the pattern of cultivating creative talent. President ZHONG mentioned, "In respect of cultivating internationally-minded graduates, we insist on carrying out internationalization in study-abroad programs and, on campus, promoting Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and enhancing the overseas study training programs. He also said "These programs have broadened students' horizons as well as trained them in various fields of ideation and we have achieved significant advances in the Internationalization of Higher Educational here at GDUFS."

President ZHONG also indicated that, "GDUFS will be evolving our own orientation and set of goals for running schools and using the experience of  first-class universities as reference points." He remarked that, "We will continue to develop the pattern and goal of cultivating internationally-minded students and consummate the process via creating mechanisms and systems for greater future advances." He also noted that he hoped the guests at the conference could express their opinions freely allowing all involved to further intensify the contact with foreign universities and jointly promote the internationalization of the educational process.

The Internationalization of higher Educational is changing rapidly and that, also, the challenges for school administrators where growing rapidly. With the development of Internationalization of the Higher Educational, the trend of cooperation and communication between universities is showing positive growth."

 

HU Zhenmin, Associate Counsel of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, indicated that, "Guangdong Province will further encourage cooperation and facilitate progress on the Internationalization of Higher Education." At the same time, he also paid tribute to our school for promoting the movement of the Internationalization of Higher Educational.

 

During the conference, CHEN Lihan, Dean of the International College, and YAN Wenhui, Assistant Dean of the International College, discussed the arrangement of the present international training patterns and courses within the International College. At last, they said, they have come up with a new training pattern, which fills in the blanks of concerned researcher in China, in both theory and practice.

 

The conference lasted for two days and WEN Bingli, Dean of the Faculty of English Language and Culture, PING Hong, Dean of the School of Interpreting and Translation Studies, and DONG Jinwei, Dean of the School of English and Education hosted the conference. Hundreds of experts and scholars debated the problems and challenges arising in the process of international cooperation from the perspective of economic, culture, social climate and resources.

 

During the conference, President ZHONG met the representatives of George Fox University, Harding University, University of Queensland, University of Gloucestershire, Coventry University and University of Central Lancashire and others, all of which have close relationships with our school. Our school has carried out projects with these 6 universities such as exchanging teachers and students as well as academic researchers.
