Study Group of Lancaster University Visits GDUFS for Third Year

Recently, 48 students of Lancaster University have come to GDUFS to join in a three-week short- term study project, which is the third time since GDUFS held the project successfully in 2012 and 2013.The project involves a variety of activities; Chinese studies, students' communication of both schools, visits to corporations governmental institutions, and cultural and scenic spots among others. In these three years, GDUFS has received 140 teachers and students in total from Lancaster University.

 

On the morning of September 9th, the 2014 opening ceremony of the study group of Lancaster University was held at the seventh teaching building. WU Junfeng, Deputy of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, Dean of International College, LIANG Xuehong, WU Yan and Recruitment and Project Director ZHOU Quan all attended the ceremony. Assistant of the Institute of International Education Project, LU Yujing was the presenter at the ceremony.

 

LIANG Xuehong told the history of GDUFS--Lancaster cooperation in English and gave some basic information about the campuses, students, teachers and workers of GDUFS. He said that the visit of the Lancaster University students shows exactly that GDUFS insists on educational internationalization. Guangzhou, the source of the Maritime Silk Road, is one of the oldest cities that opened door to the outside world as well as being headquarters of The Canton Fair. LIANG Xuehong noted that he hoped students never miss opportunities to broaden their horizons and to make more friends.

The representative of the study group of Lancaster University, their team leader Faye Greason. gave a brief introduction of the short-term exchange project of GDUFS and Lancaster University. She expressed her gratitude for the careful arrangements organized by GDUFS for this group and also encouraged the English students in the group to broaden their horizons through more such activities  so as to better understand the politics, economy and academic opportunities of China.
