On February 25, Professor Steffi Weil, Vice President of Antwerp Management School (AMS) in Belgium, led a delegation to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Shen Minghao, Vice President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building at the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation, expanding student exchanges, advancing multi-level talent cultivation, and promoting research collaboration, among other topics.
Shen extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the international characteristics and comprehensive strength of GDUFS. He noted that featuring outstanding proficiency in foreign languages and offering 33 foreign language programs, GDUFS serves as a significant base in South China for international talent cultivation and has established partnerships with 523 universities and academic institutions in 70 countries and regions. He mentioned that Foreign Language and Literature at GDUFS ranks among the top three nationwide and is placed 101-150 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject. Economics, Management, Law, and other disciplines are first-class disciplines in China, ranking among the top nationwide. Shen also reviewed the cooperative history forged in 2024, during which a delegation of GDUFS visited AMS and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a student exchange agreement. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further expand the scope and elevate the level of cooperation on the existing basis, promote substantial breakthroughs in diversified talent cultivation models such as Sino-foreign cooperative education, and expand channels for student internships and practical opportunities by leveraging the industrial resource advantages of the University of Antwerp and AMS.
