Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding
At the meeting, Yan introduced the university’s distinctive educational strengths and achievements in international development, and congratulated Professor Adam Reich on his appointment as Rector of the University of Rzeszów. He noted that GDUFS serves as an important base in South China for international talent cultivation, studies of foreign language and literature, global governance, foreign-related rule of law, and international communication of Chinese culture. In recent years, the university has seen a steady rise in international rankings and achieved notable results in international talent cultivation and global governance research. At present, GDUFS has established partnerships with 518 universities and institutions in 67 countries and regions, including sustained exchanges with nine universities in Poland. He emphasized that GDUFS has consistently attached great importance to cooperation with Polish universities, adding that the University of Rzeszów’s disciplinary strengths in fields such as artificial intelligence align closely with GDUFS’s development needs. He expressed the hope that the two sides would deepen cooperation in joint research, talent cultivation and other areas, gradually building a multi-dimensional, open and comprehensive cooperation framework to jointly elevate China-Poland higher education cooperation to a new level.
Professor Reich gave a detailed introduction to the University of Rzeszów’s disciplinary characteristics and research strengths. He noted that although the university was founded only 21 years ago and is relatively young, it has already established cutting-edge research platforms in fields such as medicine, dermatology and life sciences. He expressed the hope that, taking the signing of the MOU as an opportunity, the two universities would jointly explore diversified models of educational cooperation, achieve substantive outcomes, and inject new momentum into cultural and people-to-people exchanges and talent cultivation between Poland and China.
