On the afternoon of December 2nd, at the request of the Secretariat of the Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou), the Institute for International Education of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) hosted Sato Kilman, former Prime Minister of Vanuatu, on his visit to the university. Wang Jian, a senior research fellow at the Department for North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, accompanied him during the visit. The reception was attended by Cai Hong, Dean of the Institute for International Education, Zhou Quan, Vice Dean, and Wu Jiayi, Admissions Officer.

Vanuatu’s Former PM Sato Kilman Visits the Library
Sato Kilman visited the GDUFS History Museum and the library, and held discussions with representatives of the Institute for International Education. Cai Hong introduced GDUFS’s history, development, mission and vision, distinctive talent cultivation objectives, as well as its programs for international students. She noted that the university features a strong international orientation and has extensive experience in cultivating talent from Pacific Island countries, adding that GDUFS welcomes more outstanding young people from these island countries to pursue their studies at the university. Sato Kilman spoke highly of GDUFS’s efforts in educating international students in China and said he would recommend outstanding youth from Pacific Island countries to study at GDUFS.
