The Delegation of the Lancaster University Visits GDUFS

North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,October 23rd 2019: Tom Buckley, Vice Director of recruitment, admission and international development at Lancaster university, visited GDUFS. WANG Tinghui, Vice President of GDUFS, met the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building. The two sides had a discussion on some cooperative projects.

WANG extended welcome to the guests. She mentioned that Lancaster University and GDUFS have a deep relationship and the two sides have similar values and educational philosophies. The two universities believe in each other, connect closely and have friendly cooperation. There are a large number of exchange projects and the conversations between teachers are close. WANG said that the two universities have accumulated many useful experiences from the cooperation, and she hoped that the two schools can enlarge their fields of cooperation in the future.

 

Tom Buckley gave his thanks for GDUFS's welcome. He stated that the cooperation between Lancaster University and GDUFS has lasted for almost 20 years. The longstanding cooperation and communication between the two universities, which share the same values, are owed to the joint effort from teachers and students of the two sides. Lancaster University was named one of the best universities in the U.K. last year and has been rated as one of the best international universities. Tom pointed out that all these awards were owed to their cooperative partners and he expressed his gratitude to GDUFS for the support in this process. Finally, he hoped that the Lancaster University can maintain contact with GDUFS and continue to deepen existing levels of cooperation.

After the meeting, the two sides held a talk on further details of cooperation. Relevant leaders of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as the International College, also attended the meeting.
