North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,October 18th 2019: Cherry Habour, the acting consul general and curator of Consulate General of Venezuela in Guangzhou, visited our school. Shi Youqi, the President of GDUFS, met the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building. The two sides had a discussion on how to strengthen exchange and cooperation between China and Venezuela and they also talked about the organization of a joint concert.

SHI extended welcome to the guests, and he introduced not only the characteristics of international education of GDUFS, but also the excellent achievements of its Confucius Institute in recent years. He emphasized that GDUFS had a strong history of cooperative with the colleges in Venezuela, and he was looking forward to a further cooperation. He pointed out that a concert is an important form of cultural communication. The joint concert to be held by both GDUFS and the consulate would bring a sumptuous spiritual feast for our teachers and students.
Cherry Habour gave her thanks for GDUFS’s welcome. She said this year remarked not only the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Venezuela, but also the 1st anniversary of the construction of the Consulate General of Venezuela in Guangzhou. The consulate strongly valued its cooperation with China in the field of culture, and she thanked GDUFS for its strong support of the concert. Finally, she wished that the two countries would have a deeper cooperation on their exchange of talents.
