Celebration Events for GDUFS’s 50th Anniversary and 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the College of Art —— Featuring Li Zhuxin’s Cantonese Music Works Concert

  The College of Art of GDUFS will hold a series of activities to mark GDUFS’s 50^th school anniversary and the 10^th anniversary of the establishment of the College of Art. Co-hosted by the College of Art and the cultural exhibition center of Ling-nan Music of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Li Zhuxin’s Cantonese Music Works Concert will be presented at 19:30, May 18^th  in the small theater of the College of Art (this concert is the National premiere). It is not only the last concert for the Artistic Achievements Review of the Contemporary Cantonese Musician, Li Zhuxin (1944-2009), but also the exhibition of Li’s manuscripts hosted by the Cultural Exhibition Center of the Ling-nan Music Center of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, but also the opening performance of the newly initiated event: Promotion and Exhibition of Cantonese Music by the Cultural Exhibition Center.

   In addition to teachers from the College of Art, this performance also included another 30 young teachers, performers, postgraduates and undergraduates all selected and invited from the postgraduate faculty and folk music department (including the Folk Music Orchestra) of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the Affiliated Middle School of Xinghai Conservatory, the School of Music of South China Normal University, the School of Music of the Guangdong Dance and Drama College, the Youth Troupe from the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theater and more. Following the main part of the concert, this group of excellent musicians and professional performers … from all sides of the globe … will form an orchestra and perform a number of hand-picked Cantonese music works composed and/or orchestrated by LI Zhuxin.
