On May 7th, 8 delegates from Indonesia visited GDUFS, including Sophiyanto Wuryan, the Chairman of the Indonesian Community Development Foundation (YPPMI), Hasan Abdul Rozak and Taswan, the President and Vice President of Universitas Stikubank and R. Basiya, the Director of the Institution of Development and Promotion. Vice President Fang Fanquan warmly received the distinguished guests at the north campus, along with Cai Hong, Director of the International Office, Fang Fei, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture and Cai Jincheng, a retired professor of Fundamental Indonesian as well as a liaison between GDUFS and Universitas Stikubank.

Delegates from Universitas Stikubank explained their wish to establish a Confucius Institute in their university. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President Fang presented general information and the educational features of GDUFS, followed by President Hasan’s introduction of the Chinese subjects in Universitas Stikubank. At the end of the formal ceremony, both exchanged gifts.

Located in Samarang, the northern part of Central Java, Universitas Stikubank was set up in 1968, and gradually developed from a financial school to a university with diverse subjects. Recently the university has been planning to start Chinese language and culture subjects thus further cooperation with GDUFS is hoped for.
