Notable Russian Linguist Visits GDUFS

On May 13, TER-MINASOVA SVETLANA, the Department Chairwoman of the Foreign Language and Region Study School of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Russia (Moscow University) visited GDUFS. President ZHONG Weihe of GDUFS met the guests in the VIP Room of the North Campus. The Chief of the International Office, CAI Hong, the Dean of the Faculty of European Language and Culture, Yang Ke, Deputy Director of the Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics Research Center, YANG Jing and a Russian teacher Sharafutidinov Dzhalil were also present.

SVETLANA introducing the college education reforms of Moscow University to President ZHONG

In the meeting, TER-MINASOVA SVETLANA and President ZHONG introduced the development progress of Moscow University and GDUFS respectively. TER-MNASOVA SVETLANA reported on the details of the education reform. They discussed how to promote the development of foreign language studies as well.

SVETVANA is a notable linguist and the leading scholar in the field of cross-cultural communication research of the time. She is now Chairwoman of the Russian Federal Ministry of Education Foreign Language Science Committee, Head of the Russian Association of English Teachers, Chairwoman of the Russian Association of Applied Linguistics as well as honorary professor of the Philology of the University of Birmingham University in the UK and New York University in the U.S. She has received many awards such as the Lomonosov Award, the 50^th Anniversary Fulbright Award and other top prizes in the social science field at home and abroad.

After the meeting, both sides exchanged gifts. President ZHONG expressed his best wishes for further cultural communication with Moscow University.
