Jan 24th--Golf player Feng Shanshan, an alumni of GDUFS, was awarded Best Non-Olympic Athlete Prize at the 2012 CCTV Sports Personalities of the Year ceremony. Feng, now a 22 year-year-old girl, started playing golf at the age of ten and became the first player from China to win a major event at LPGA in 2012. ''I think I have been very lucky over the past 14 years,'' said Feng after receiving the prize, ''because there have been so many people willing to offer their help and support to me.''
Golf will officially become an Olympic event at 2016 Rio Olympic Game. Feng believes that this will cause the competitive aspect of the competition to get tougher but she will try her best. She hopes that she will win the prize again in the future.
