Art Exhibition at GDUFS

On the morning of October 28, “Beautiful GDUFS, Ink Tenderness" art exhibition opening ceremony and the donation ceremony were held in the lobby of north campus library. Famous painters Pan Jiajun and Huang Weili; GDUFS President, Zhong Weihe; Ministerof thePropagandaDepartment ofthe Party Committee, Hu Wentao; Director of the Art Department, Li Yukun; Chief Librarian, Kong Xiaoming; Secretary of Party General Branch, Zhou Xiujiao; the General Manager of education group, Sun Jianjun; Secretary-general of Three-Conference secretariat, Xie Weiguang, and other representatives of school faculties and departments attend the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Sun Jianjun.

In his speech, Zhong Weihe thanked the teacher Wu Qi for his generous donation. He pointed out that our university always attaches great importance to the making of characteristics. In particular, GDUFS highlights the characteristics of English, and at the same it also pays attention to art education. That’s the reason this university is named “The Seventh Art Teaching Base with Distinctive Features” in Guangdong province. He also pointed out that this exhibition shows not only the beauty of art, but also this teacher’s sense of belonging to, and honor for his GDUFS family. President Zhong hoped we could feel with our heart Wu’s love to this school while appreciating these works of art.

The principal of Zheng-Cheng Foreign School, Wang Chengming, said this university has always adhered to the holistic education of educational philosophy, and made remarkable achievements in art education since its foundation four years ago. This work exhibition and donation will effectively promote art exchange and cultural development between the Affiliated school of GDUFS and promote our university’s culture and art to a new level.

According to the introduction, on the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of our school, the art teacher Wu Qi of Zeng Cheng Foreign School created a series of ink painting works themed on the campus’ scenery, and selected 50 works to donate to the university as a birthday gift. The paintings depict the scenery of the north campus, the south campus, ZengCheng, ZhaoQing, FoShan, and two kindergartens attached to GDUFS. In particular, Wu Qi spent more than a month creating a scroll named "Big and Beautiful Guangwai", which is more than 5 meters long and shows a panorama of the landscape in the north campus.

After the unveiling ceremony, Zhong Weihe gave a donation certificate to Wu Qi, and they visited the exhibited works together. The display time of the exhibition in north school library is from October 28th to November 8th.
