Crocodiles may attack people in the wild, but human-beings always find ways to realize their imagination and therefore we have tamed crocodiles in zoos, parks and farms all over the world to satisfy our curiosity about this fierce but attractive animal. The Guangzhou Crocodile Park, which houses more than ten thousand crocodiles, is the largest crocodile-themed amusement park in the world.

The Park is divided into different areas, including Crane Bay, Swan Cove, Croco Island, the Crocodile Gallery and the Amphibian and Reptile House. Together they bring guests an astonishing experience of animal performance and ecological sightseeing.

Dance with crocodiles

Considering that many species of crocodiles are critically endangered, it will be meaningful for those who care about animals to photograph the prehistoric look of crocodiles on their mind. Entering the park, you’d better slow your pace to watch Tomistoma Schlegelii basking on the rocks, a Yangtze alligator sleeping with his mouth open and panting like a dog, and Crocodylus porosus moving slowly like an emperor.

By walking along the crocodile gallery where crocodiles in different phases of growth can be seen, you are actually witnessing their growing process. If you are lucky enough to visit the park during breeding season, it’s of great chance for you to observe the hatchlings coming out of their shells.

After all these tender scenes, dare you have a dance with the ugly monster? Don't miss the opportunity to go to Croco Island to hook the crocodiles if you are hankering after excitement. It’s a thrilling moment when the famous predators who lie low in the water rush out in a second to reach the food.

Marvel at the art of life

Visitors to the park can see a variety of animals other than crocodiles. Who can resist wandering along the bay where the great flamingoes flaunt their pink plumage, herons flap slowly across the lake and pelicans trap fish sharply? It’s not only a paradise of water birds, but also a heaven for bird lovers.

For those who are crazy about reptiles, it is enchanting to appreciate lizards, frogs and chameleons in the Reptile House and, at the same time, to see a cold-blooded patteraless slithering on the tree branches and…he may be watching you too.

Believe your eyes. Hold your breath. Rediscover the art of life!

Have fun

The admission ticket is about 90 yuan for an adult and there are concessions for children, the old and the disabled. As you tour around the park, you may find yourself surrounded by different kinds of pumpkins in Fantasy Garden as well as stunning performances, such as the trainer getting money from a crocodile’s mouth, the little pigs diving and the hippos singing for you.

As a crocodile-theme park, the Guangzhou Crocodile Park has various crocodile products like shoes and handbags. Crocodile meat is also considered a delicacy in the park. So before you leave, it’s reasonable that you want to enjoy a good meal and buy some souvenirs. But think it twice before doing so because crocodiles’ real tears probably have been shed behind the glamorous products. Instead, if you really hope to bring back home precious memory, visit the Nocturnal Animal House, a dark habitat in daytime. Itwill surprise you a lot. Nocturnal animals like owls, flying squirrels and more are waiting for you to explode the secrets of the night!

Have you gotten tired of the noise and traffic of city life? Pick a sunny morning to encounter some animals and blend yourself into nature!
