Please Slow Your Steps

It seems as if though a great many pleasures are attainable in a world where so many green hills and clear waters can be enjoyed, where there are so many man-made artifacts that we can marvel at, where there are so many good books we can appreciate and can cultivate our spirits, however we are too busy to focus our attention on them.

We don't know when the Boston ivy has crawled along the wall of our neighbors' house and provides us such a pleasant view; when we catch a glimpse of this by chance, they are already glossy and green.

We don't know when the cherry blossoms come into bloom until we see the petals spreading on the ground. We walk so quickly through life that we miss many such scenes.

BUT What are we so busy in doing?!!!  Do you know? I don't know!! Someone said "We, all of us in the world, always have two choices, get busy dying or get busy living."

People, on the street, on the subway, at home and all around, come and go hurriedly, even having no time to greet their families. They pay no attention to anything in their surroundings, not to themselves, and only keeping a steady eye on where they are going. The train comes and goes everyday, people meet and separate in only a few minutes as if they/we have never appeared in each other's lives.

Day by day, we only have ourselves to accompany ourselves?shy;we walk, work, and live all alone. We live in our own world exclusive of all other people. When we recognize this, then we may begin to the process of self-reflection hoping that we are not left and forgot by the whole world. We do not belong to any community where we could share our happiness and sorrow, we seemed to have not ever existed in the world.

Please slow your steps so as to take look at the scenery along the road of life and, maybe at this moment the storm is strong, the road is rugged, and the flower is yet to be in bloom. However, every stretch of life deserves our patient appreciation.

Savor this very moment, and you can enjoy life.
