President Yan comprehensively introduced GDUFS’ internationalization efforts and the substantial achievements attained in this regard. He noted that, as one of the high-level universities with major development support in Guangdong Province, the university has established partnerships with 511 universities and institutions across 66 countries and regions through its PRIME Program. He highlighted that the university’s Spanish program has offered a complete academic training system spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. With dual recognition as both a key discipline of Guangdong Province and a national first-class undergraduate program, the Spanish program has become a leading model in Southern China for disciplinary development and interdisciplinary talent cultivation. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain, the university looks forward to further leveraging its geographical advantages and academic strengths to deepen cooperation with Spanish universities and think tanks in the areas of talent development, scientific research innovation, and think tank construction, thereby contributing to broader cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Professor Carmona commended GDUFS’ role as a bridge between Chinese and Spanish nations. He expressed hope that the visit would result in practical cooperation projects, including faculty and student exchanges, scientific research, and shared academic resources, ultimately contributing to the cultivation of more talent with global competence.

Attendees included representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Academic Research Division, and the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures of GDUFS.

After the meeting, a roundtable discussion was held at the Second Conference Room, focusing on specific cooperation issues. The discussion was chaired by Vice President Shen Minghao. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Academic Research Division, the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, and the Guangdong Research Institute for International Studies of GDUFS were also present at the discussion.
