On July 5, a delegation led by Dibyesh Anand, Deputy Vice–Chancellor for Global Engagement and Employability at University of Westminster, visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Vice President Jiao Fangtai of GDUFS, warmly welcomed the guests at the VIP Hall of the Administration Building on the Baiyun Mountain Campus. Both sides exchanged views on international talent cultivation and enhancing inter-university cooperation.

During the meeting, Jiao provided an overview of the university’s historical development, educational characteristics, and discipline construction. He emphasized that GDUFS upholds the philosophy of internationalization, fostering openness and inclusivity while actively expanding its network of cooperation with universities and educational institutions worldwide. Jiao noted the deep friendship between GDUFS and the University of Westminster, marked by frequent exchanges and broad collaboration across various fields, which has resulted in the joint cultivation of a large number of global talents. Looking to the future, Jiao expressed his hope that both universities could explore new avenues for course collaboration in the era of artificial intelligence, deepening interdisciplinary and multidimensional exchanges to jointly nurture a new generation of outstanding students equipped with global perspectives and strong employability. He envisioned this cooperation as building a broader and stronger bridge for deeper exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Anand praised the deep friendship and close cooperation between the two institutions. He highlighted the strong academic programs of the University of Westminster and expressed the university’s commitment to advancing internationalization and fostering academic innovation and global partnerships in the context of globalization. Anand stressed the importance of enhancing students’ employability in the new era. He hopes to deepen cooperation with GDUFS in the future to cultivate more outstanding talents with a global outlook.
