During the meeting, President Yan extended a warm welcome to Consul General Darvishi and introduced the university’s outstanding achievements in international talent training. He emphasized that GDUFS adheres to the philosophy of internationalization and has established strong partnerships with numerous universities and institutions worldwide. GDUFS is the only university in South China offering a Persian language program, which has been recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program. The university adopts a “Persian plus English plus Micro-major” interdisciplinary talent training model, producing a large number of qualified Persian language professionals. President Yan expressed his hope that this visit would not only further promote language teaching cooperation between GDUFS and Iranian universities but also expand cooperation into other disciplines and fields, leading to more comprehensive educational and research exchanges.
Consul General Darvishi expressed his heartfelt thanks for the warm reception and praised GDUFS for its accomplishments in international talent training and Persian language education. He noted that as two ancient civilizations, Iran and China should not limit their collaboration to language exchange alone. He expressed hope that future cooperation between Iranian universities and GDUFS would deepen in areas such as faculty exchange, student training, research collaboration, language dissemination, and international conferences, contributing to strengthening the friendly relations between Iran and China.
