On June 23, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing held the award ceremony for the Merit to Chinese-Polish Friendship Medals, recognizing individuals who have significantly contributed to fostering friendly relations between China and Poland. Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland, along with First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, presented the awards to the honorees. Prof. Mao Yinhui, Dean of the Institute of Foreign Literature and Culture at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), was honored with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. Jiao Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, along with officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony, President Duda highlighted Prof. Mao’s outstanding contributions to Polish literature, culture, translation, and education. He commended her tireless efforts in promoting cultural exchange between China and Poland. President Duda expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the recipients and encouraged them to continue serving as role models, fostering deeper Sino-Polish relations and contributing to a brighter future for both nations through comprehensive cooperation.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Poland, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Polish Language Department at GDUFS.
