Delegation from University of Technology Sydney, Australia Visits Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

On the morning of October 27, LeoMian Liu, Vice President of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and his delegation came to visit Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Vice President Jiao Fangtai met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building of Baiyunshan Campus. The two sides exchanged views on discipline construction and the promotion of inter-school cooperation.

Jiao Fangtai said that GDUFS has always adhered to the characteristics of international education, constantly innovated student training models, and promoted the all-round development of students. GDUFS currently has launched the International Prime Initiative. Through innovation in internationalization talent training models, optimization of international teaching staff, and acceleration of international scientific research and social services, GDUFS aims to build an internationalization high-end cooperation platform. At the same time, Jiao Fangtai expressed praise for the rapid increase in international influence of UTS and the continuous innovation of talent training models. He pointed out that GDUFS and UTS share similar educational philosophies, a good foundation, and a deep friendship for cooperation. Since signing a cooperation agreement in 2016, both universities have continuously developed cooperation projects and fields. It is expected that in the future both universities will further enhance the cooperation level in terms of exchange of teachers and students, scientific research exchanges, and joint training, thus writing a new chapter of cooperation.

LeoMian Liu introduced the overall operation and talent training model of UTS. He said that UTS attaches great importance to internationalization, sustainable development strategies, and flexible talent training strategies. He strongly agrees that internationalization is conducive to improving students’ communication skills and broadening students’ internationalization horizons. He hopes that both universities can carry out multi-field cooperation in business, law, computer engineering and technology, media and design, and other fields in the future to jointly cultivate outstanding talents and make great contributions to education and cultural exchanges between Australia and China.
