The Delegation of the United Nations University for Peace Visits Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

On the afternoon of October 13, Zhang Xinyuan, Director-General of the Chinese Center of the United Nations University for Peace, and her delegation visited GDUFS. Jiao Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building of Baiyunshan Campus. The two sides exchanged views on international talent training and school cooperation.

Jiao Fangtai warmly welcomed the visit of Zhang Xinyuan and her delegation and gave a detailed introduction to the history, operation characteristics, and internationalization talent training model of GDUFS. He said that GDUFS is a high-level university with distinctive international characteristics. It has a sound internationalization talent training system and fruitful training achievements, which are an important base for internationalization talent training, foreign languages and literature learning, global economics governance, foreign-related legal research, and the international spread of Chinese culture in South China. He emphasized that the noble educational purpose of the United Nations University for Peace and the international operation characteristics and training goals of GDUFS complement each other. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future, jointly explore new channels for talent training, and work together to cultivate versatile reserve talents for international organizations with global vision, strategic insight, and innovative consciousness.

Exchanging cooperation agreements

Zhang Xinyuan expressed her gratitude to GDUFS for the warm reception, affirmed GDUFS’s contribution to internationalization talent training, and introduced the background of the United Nations University for Peace, projects in China, and talent training for internationalization organizations. She said that the United Nations University for Peace shares a similar educational philosophy with GDUFS and has outstanding advantages in cultivating talents for internationalization organizations. She emphasized that through this visit she hoped to strengthen in-depth exchanges, explore the cooperation and development prospects between the two universities in cultivating talents for international organizations, and work together to write a new chapter of mutual cooperation. At the meeting, Jiao Fangtai and Zhang Xinyuan exchanged cooperation agreements.
