Yan Xiangbin Meets with the Consul General of the Consulate General of Peru in Guangzhou

On the morning of October 12, Ruben Espinoza, Consul General of the Consulate General of Peru in Guangzhou, visited GDUFS. Yan Xiangbin, President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP hall of the administrative building of Baiyunshan Campus. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation.

Yan Xiangbin gave a detailed introduction to the history, culture, operation situation, and talent training of GDUFS. He said that as a key high-level university in Guangdong Province, GDUFS actively carries out high-quality external exchanges and cooperation with foreign (overseas) universities, scientific research institutions, and internationalization organizations to create distinctive internationalization characteristics. GDUFS has a sound talent training system for Spanish majors and has cultivated plenty of bilateral cultural, economic, and trade exchange envoys. He emphasized that Peruvian universities are important partners of GDUFS, and expressed special thanks to the Consulate General of Peru in Guangzhou for its strong support to GDUFS’s internationalization exchange. In the future, we welcome more Peruvian students to come to GDUFS for further study and look forward to further promoting cooperation in talent training and academic exchanges to jointly build a high-quality platform and promote cooperation learning among civilizations.

Ruben Espinoza praised GDUFS’s talent training and internationalization achievements. He said that Peru and China both have a long history, which is the cornerstone for us to carry out in-depth cultural exchanges. He hopes that we can deepen cooperation in the fields of cultural and academic exchanges in the future, and achieve greater achievements in jointly expanding friendly relations and building a cooperation platform.

Relevant directors from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, and the Library attended the meeting. Yan Xiangbin and Ruben Espino exchanged books and cultural gifts. After the meeting, the delegation went to the library to visit the “Road to the Inca Photo Exhibition”.
