GDUFS Has Added 3 Non-English Foreign Language Undergraduate Majors

Baiyun Mountain Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, April 26th, 2023: Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the results of applications for new undergraduate majors available at universities in 2022, which has resulted in three new Non-English Foreign language undergraduate majors being added to GDUFS, namely Filipino, Hausa, and Hungarian. So far, GDUFS has 71 undergraduate enrollment majors including 31 languages, including 37 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 29 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The school plans to open 30 key languages spoken in conuntries along the Belt and Road and official language majors in RCEP member countries and 10 ASEAN countries by 2025.

Major Introduction

Filipino: The Filipino Language major will cultivate Filipino professionals with an international vision and Chinese sensibility, mastery of certain scientific research methods, as well as the ability to engage in translation; research; teaching and management in foreign affairs; economy and trade; culture; press and publication; education; scientific research; tourism; as well as other tasks.

Hausa: The Hausa language major will cultivate Hausa professionals who have solid basic knowledge and skills of the language, as well as strong English communication skills, and can engage in various other activities.

Hungarian: The Hungarian Language major will cultivate “Hungarian + English” bilingual talents.
