The delegation of the Polish Ambassador to China Visited GDUFS

On March 14th, Wojciech Zajączkowski, Polish Ambassador to China, and Piotr Nowotniak, Consul General of Consulate General of Poland in Guangzhou, visited GDUFS. Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the school, met the guests at the university’s Baiyun Campus, where the two sides conducted friendly communication.

Shi Youqi has greatly welcomed the delegation, and briefly introduced our school’s conditions as well relevant information about the Polish major. He pointed out that GDUFS is a significant base for the cultivation of international talents in South China, foreign language and literature, global economic governance, foreign affairs and the rule of law, and the international communication of Chinese culture. The Polish language major of GDUFS, the third in the nation and the first in southern region, has achieved impressive results, receiving as admission as a Polish undergraduate professional teaching site, one of the first in a batch of national first-class sites.

Shi emphasized that GDUFS is devoted to developing good learning conditions and providing students with overseas exchange opportunities. With this goal, GDUFS has already signed framework cooperation agreements with nine Polish institutions. Shi hopes that the two sides can further extend friendly relations, deepen exchanges and cooperation as well as make greater contributions to promoting communication and trade exchange between China and Poland.

Wojciech Zajączkowski admired the achievements of the construction of the Polish language major at GDUFS. He mentioned his pleasure at seeing that GDUFS has cultivated a large number of excellent Polish graduates who will help to build a bridge of China-Poland cultural exchange. He hopes to continue to deepen exchange with our school and write new chapters of cooperation in the future.

Officials from the Institute of Foreign Literature and Culture, coupled with Ministry of International Exchange and Cooperation and other relevant units, attended the meeting. After the meeting, the visiting delegation went to the lecture hall of the library to communicate with the teachers and students of the Polish language major.
