GDUFSer wins first prize in National College French Speech Contest

Baiyun Mountain Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, November 17, 2022: On November 13, the final of the 14th "FLTRP Cup" National College French Speech Contest came to an end. Guo Wanting, a student from the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures in GDUFS, won the first prize. The competition is sponsored by the French Branch Committee of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Society for the Teaching of French, organized by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and co-organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.

The “FLTRP Cup” National College French Speech Contest began in 2008 and has become one of the highest-level French speech contests in China. More than 90 contestants were selected from each university to participate in the national preliminary contest. After a strict anonymous appraisal, 9 players stood out for the national finals. Guo Wanting, a student of GDUFS, competed in the final with 8 contestants from the School of International Relations, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Nanjing University, Dalian University of Foreign Studies and other universities. During the prepared and impromptu speech of the finals, Guo was calm and composed, and finally won the championship for her excellent performance. Our contestants are coached by Raymond ROCHER and Ye Jianru, teachers of the French Department of the School of Western Languages and Culture.
