JIAO Fangtai warmly welcomed the visit and gave a detailed introduction to the delegation in terms of GDUFS’s current teaching programs and plans for training new talent. He expressed that, as a university with distinctive international characteristics, GDUFS has established cooperative relations with various universities and institutions at home and abroad and is devoted to cultivating high-quality talents with an international vision. GDUFS always attaches great importance to overseas education and accepts about 30 students from Uzbekistan every year. During the COVID-19 outbreak last year, GUO Moruo, an Uzbek student, spared no pains to bring back nearly 30,000 masks from his homeland to help China fight the pandemic. His heroic deed was very impressive and admirable. In the future, GDUFS hopes to maintain a good rapport with the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou and together expand communication and cooperation in the field of culture and education.

Consul Enazarov Rahmon extended his heartfelt gratitude for GDUFS’s warm welcome and praised its achievements in running a university with distinctive international features. He mentioned that the ancient Silk Road had linked China and Uzbekistan as early as over 2,000 years ago and from then on continuous exchanges began. Nowadays, students from the two sides serve as envoys of cultural exchanges, promoting mutual learning among civilizations. In order to continue the cooperation, the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou thinks highly of collaboration and communication with GDUFS, and hopes to strengthen the interconnection through exploring the construction of language programs in the future, so as to jointly make contribution to the educational industry of both countries.
