Delegation from the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou Visits GDUFS

North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, November 17th, 2020: Natenapa Kongsri, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou, led a delegation to visit GDUFS on the morning of November 17th, 2020. SUI Guangjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of GDUFS, greeted the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building on north campus.

SUI Guangjun conveyed his warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that GDUFS is a key university with distinct character of internationalization, and it is the importantbase for international talents’ cultivation and the research for foreign language and culture, foreign trade cooperation and international strategic in the south China. Due to the efforts that China has made to advance a higher level of opening up and to develop a cooperative relationship between ASEAN and China in recent years, GDUFS will build up a cooperative relationship with the colleges and cultural institutions in Thailand under the background of normalization of epidemic prevention and control, and welcome more students from Thailand to learn and communicate in GDUFS.

Natenapa Kongsri thought highly of the efforts of the Chinese government and GDUFS during the epidemic, and expressed her congratulations for the Thai major rewarded as a national first-class undergraduate specialty construction. She mentioned that language builds a bridge between culture and economy. Young people in Thailand become more enthusiastic about Chinese learning, and the number of students from Thailand who come to China to learn language and culture has increased. Natenapa Kongsri expressed that the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou hopes to advance build a cooperative relationship between more Thai colleges and GDUFS by the promotion of visits and projects and promote the teachers and students’ visits and communicate projects. They hope that both sides could work together to cultivate high-quality talents and to make active contribution to the development of the relationship between China and Thailand.
