President Zhong Visits GDUFS Students Studying in Monterey

October 13th _  President Zhong Weihe visited GDUFS students during his participation in the Guangdong Higher Education Management Training Course. While on campus he met with students from cooperation programs studying at the Monterey Institute of International Studies  Dr. Wang Binhua, head of the Interpreting Department of the School of Interpreting & Translation Studies (SITS), also visited the students.

 

At dinner, President Zhong asked the students about their studies and living circumstances. He said, "I am here with the care from GDUFS and your relatives." President Zhong was pleased to know that the students have gotten used to studying and living here. He encouraged them to make good use of this academic cooperation, and stand out in each of their majors.

These students are among the first to benefit from the Cooperative Education program from the two departments. Postgraduate students from SITS can enter the second year study in Monterey directly after the promotion examination of the Monterey Institute of International Studies. While two students major in Meeting Interpretation, the others' majors are Interpreting & Translation and Localization Management. Students will achieve Double MA degree from GDUFS and the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
