GDUFS to Hold 2017 Sino-Russian University Symposium

President ZHONG Weihe attended the inaugural meeting of the Sino-Russian Economy-Engaged University Alliance held in the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), November 23. In the meeting, GDUFS was chosen as the organizer of the 2017 Symposium.
Sino-Russian Economy-Engaged University Alliance is organized by both the Chinese and Russian Ministries of Education. The Alliance promises to provide a platform for further academic cooperation between Chinese and Russian economy-engaged universities and research institutions. It also encourages its members to hold more exchange seminars and organize additional joint training projects in order to cultivate versatile professionals who are good at both languages and their areas of expertise. Twenty six universities have been approved for membership in the Alliance so far.

President ZHONG delivered a talk during the conference. He introduced the development of GDUFS and pointed out that international cooperation has always been an important feature of our School. Russian is one of the languages earliest founded as a major at GDUFS and has already built cooperation programs with many Russian universities including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Far Eastern Federal University. President ZHONG also mentioned the Confucius Institute which was co-founded by GDUFS and the Ural Federal University (UrFU). He said GDUFS expects to see more, and further, cooperation in the Alliance and hopes to work for it.
