GDUFS Delegation Attends University Presidents Forum between China and Indonesia

          From 25th May to 3rd June 2015,YANG Aimin, Vice-President of GDUFS, visited Indonesia, Laos and Cambodia. YANG also visited various of the Educational Institutions of these countries, they are all parts of the   University system of Indonesia, Palmer shun Dan university, National University of Laos, the Royal University of PhnomPenh and Norton University were among those visited. Also, YANG attended the University President’s Forum held at University of Indonesia.

                          Others accompanying him  were CHEN Duoyou, Director of East Language Institute; YI Zongyong,Vice Director of International Office; WU Yan, Vice President of the International College; LIU Yingjun, of the faculty of Lao language and so on. Those who attended activities in Indonesia and Cambodia were CAI Jincheng, retired faculty of Indonesian Language and Culture and ZHOU Huiwen, faculty of the Cambodian language.

On the morning of 26th May, YANG met with Doctor Hasan Abdul Rozak, Principle of the Java Financial University at the hotel and signed an inter-school cooperation agreement. On the afternoon of the same day, the GDUFS delegation went to the Indonesian Ministry of Education to attend the University President’s Form between China and Indonesia. Those who attended were officials of the Ministry of Education of both China and Indonesia, officials of prestigious universities of China and Indonesia and representatives of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department.

On the morning of 27th May, an Education Exhibition of studying abroad in China was held at the University of Indonesia. YANG and his partners attended the opening ceremony and witnessed the moment of the curtain rising for LIU Yandong, Vice Prime Minister.After the opening ceremony, YANG met Doctor Wahyudin Zarkasyi,Principle the of University of Keakow guo-li wang, both participants introduced their school related to  the development situation as it exists,school-running characteristics and their strategic plan  for the near future. Too, they signed an Inter-school Cooperation Agreement.

On the afternoon of 27th May, as invited by Doctor Nurhayati Ali Assegaf, who is an Indonesian Member of Parliament, YANG and other members of the GDUFS delegation visited Indonesia`s Parliament Building and they had a further discussion on issues of the research of the Maritime Silk Road and mutual students exchange and reached an extensive consensus for cooperation.

On the morning of 28th May, YANG visited the University of Indonesia and had a further discussion on the mutual establishment of a research center with officials of their College of Liberal Arts, both parts supported each other`s language teaching and research and the exchange of faculty members and students.

On 29th May, YANG and his partners went to Bandung. They visited the Palmer Shun Dan University and received a warm welcome from Doctor Jaja Suteja,  Vice Principle. Both parts agreed to expand and deepen existing cooperation agreements and strive to achieve more results as relate to academic conferences, student exchanges and mutual visits of scholars. After the meeting, YANG signed a MOU with the International Women`s University, a sister school of Palmer Shun Dan University.

 On 1st June, YANG and his partners went to the People`s Democratic Republic of Laos and visited their National University,the most prestigious institution of higher education in the country.Doctor Phout Simmalavong,Vice-Principal welcomed the GDUFS delegation warmly. After that they had a talk on communication and cooperation plan for different areas and reached a consensus on GDUFS students of Lao Language`s studying abroad in Laos. After the meeting, they signed an agreement on the two universities` cooperation plans.

Cambodia was the last country of the GDUFS delegation`s Northeastern trip. On the afternoon of 2nd June, YANG and others visited Royal University of Phnom Penh, the most prestigious university in Cambodia and received warm welcome from the Vice-Principal. They had a discussion on cooperative research, exchange of faculties,students of Cambodian Language`s studying abroad in Cambodia and some other issues. At last, officials of these two universities signed the MOU.

Norton University is one of the earliest private universities and once, in 2011, had signed a cooperation agreement with GDUFS. So this time YANG Aimin`s visit here was to further carry out the agreement and expand other areas of cooperation.Chan Sok Khieng, President of Norton University and other officials of this university, showed their great interest on the establishment of mutual research centers and cooperation on publication of academic reports that put forward by YANG.
