In September, SUI Guangjun, Chairman of the University Board, accompanied by YANG Ke, Dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, HU Chonghan, Dean of the School of Legal Studies, WU Junfeng, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Professor QIAN Fang, was invited to pay visits to the Russia Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the University of Tampere and the University of Iceland.
On 24th September, SUI visited the Northwest campus of the Russia Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in Saint Petersburg. The university President and Vice President cordially received SUI. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement and further discussed the details. It was agreed that there were several opportunities for cooperation on the subject of language, international relations and legal studies. They expected that student and teacher exchanges and joint research could help deepen the mutual cooperation.

On 28th September, SUI arrived at the University of Tampere and had a talk with some officials of the university. The development was reviewed since the signing of the cooperation agreement. They hoped to further interact with each other on the subject of language and culture, administration and education and widened the cooperation in student exchange and teacher training. At the end, the two parties exchanged their opinions on the education reform of universities and the improvement of teaching methods.

On 29th September, SUI paid a visit to the University of Iceland and was warmly welcomed by its President. A cooperation agreement and student-exchange agreement were signed. They both agreed that the education cooperation between China and Nordic Europe should be promoted, especially in the areas of economics and trade, administration, finance, legal studies and education. SUI welcomed the students of the University of Iceland, majoring in Chinese and Chinese trade, to study at GDUFS and the business students to take courses at GDUFS in English.

On 29th September, SUI visited the Chinese embassy in Iceland and was warmly received by Ambassador ZHANG Weidong. SUI appreciated Ambassador ZHANG for his effort in promoting the cooperation between our university and the University of Iceland.SUI also introduced the development of GDUFS in recent years, especially our aim to build an international first-class university for the service of our country and the need for local economic development. Ambassador ZHANG congratulated our achievements in serving the national strategies and recommended our university to strengthen the cooperation with Nordic Europe. He also wished that our university will make a contribution to the research of the One Belt One Road initiative.
