On October 23rd, an educationaldelegation from Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria, Arequipa Peru, paid a visit to GDUFS. Cesar Zarate, Vice President of the university; and Angelica Salas, Foreign Directors of the Confucius Institute, were among the delegation. ZHONG Weihe, President of GDUFS, met them in the VIP room at the Administrative Building on the north campus. CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; YANG Ke, Dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures; and WU Fangfei, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, also attended the meeting.

ZHONG Weihe expressed a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that the two universities had conducted sound exchanges and cooperation in the teaching of language and culture teaching. And he wished that the two universities could undertake a more extensive academic exchange and cooperation in terms of economics and trade, promoting the development of economics and trade between China and Peru while also spreading Chinese culture. Our president also expressed that GDUFS would continue increasingitsinput and try its best to support the cooperation programme in different areas.
Cesar Zarate said that in order to encourage more students to study Chinese well, Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria, Arequipa Peru, had made Chinese one of the compulsory foreign languages, which was related to the graduation requirements for students. He pointed out that the primary and secondary schools would enlarge enrollment on relevant courses and establish more new learning centers. The Chinese culture show, which was recently held by the Confucius Institute, evoked a great response and spread Chinese culture further.
