North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, November 8th 2019: Pornchai Danvivathana, Secretary General of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) visited GDUFS. SUI Guangjun, Chairman of the Board of GDUFS and JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS met the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building on North Campus. Daraka Sapito, an economic analyst; JIANG Lin, Director of Dean’s Office of GDUFS; and KE Xiaohua, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the meeting. The two sides had a discussion on GDUFS joining in the ACD University Network and signed a cooperation memorandum.
The two sides had an amicable meeting.
SUI extended a warm welcome upon the visit of the delegation of ACD and introduced the internationalized features and the general overview of the development of GDUFS. He mentioned that more than 70 students have joined several international associations in recent years, and many have held positions in the United Nations, the International Red Cross and so forth. He asserted that GDUFS not only are contributing toscientific research in various fields, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, but have acquired great achievements in Think Tanks. He also noted that he is looking forward to more practical cooperation in order to share future experiences and have further conversations through the platform of ACD.
Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement
Pornchai Danvivathana stated that the development of GDUFS conforms to the trends of China’s development and is a vivid demonstration of globalization. By pointing out that the atmosphere of an internationalized university can provide a great opportunity for Chinese and foreign students, Danvivathana expressed his congratulations on the achievements of GDUFS. He believed that signing the cooperation memorandum is a good beginning for the two sides and it will be a win-win situation.
