GDUFS Holds the 2018 Teacher's Day Award Ceremony

        On September 9^th, all the faculty members of GDUFS converged on the Yunshan Auditorium to celebrate the 34^th Teacher’s Day and award the advanced collective and individuals during 2017-2018 academic year. On the ceremony hosted by LI Yunming, the Vice Chairman of University Board, SUI Guangjun, the Chairman of University Board as well as SHI Youqi, President of GDUFS delivered speeches. The attendees included the Vice Presidents of GDUFS LIU Jianda, HE Chuantian, LIU Haichun, CHEN Linhan, JIAO Fangtai and other school leaders as well as teaching staffs and emeritus faculty members.

        On behalf of the leaders of GDUFS, SUI Guangjun paid  his sincere compliments to the incumbent teaching and administrative staffs for their hard work and expressed his devout gratitude towards the retired staffs for their concerns and support for the reforms and developments of GDUFS. Besides, he summarized the outstanding achievements of GDUFS in the past year and analysed its new situation and mission. He also put forwards three expections for teachers. Firstly, the teachers are supposed to undertake the new mission and assist to promote the reforms of education system confidently. Secondly, they ought to hold fast to professional ethics, handling the relationship between imparting knowledge and doing research appropriately as well as resolving the contradition between their teaching and students’ learning. Thirdly, they should devote themselves to the improvement of regions and country by participating in the programs of development strategies that provide talents support, intelligence support, technical support, and cultural support for various areas.

       SHI Youqi made a conclusion of what the university had been done in last year and shared the deeds of the advanced collective and individuals in different fields and career, which he summed up into seven aspects – the upgrade of the party system construction, the new situation of the discipline construction, the higher quality of talent cultivation, the fruit of scientific research and innovation, the trend in the international education, the change in social service system and the improvement of management as well. SHI Youqi also hoped that teachers can preserve their ideals of educating people while keeping pace with times. He pointed out that an excellent teacher should not only possesses professional knowledge but also faiths, morality and benevolence.

         LIU Jianda announced the key projects and awards that GDUFS obtained in 2017-2018 academic year and the list of the honorary collectives and individuals. The university leaders presented awards of “China's Baiqianwan Talent Projects Young Experts with Remarkable Contributions”, “Individual Excellence in Learning after Lei Feng in Work” , “Guangdong Outstanding Teachers” and “Guangdong Outstanding Education Practitioner”, “Model International, Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan Teachers from 2017-2018 Academic Year”, “Advanced Units of 2017-2018 Academic Year” to their winners. The honorary cetificates were also conferred to staff representatives who retired between September 1^st 2017 to August 31^st 2018.
