Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, September 9^th 2018: As the refreshing breeze of early autumn fell on the day of September 9^th 2018, GDUFS was embracing the new blood of 2018. Accompanied by families, freshmen from all over the seas flocked into the campus with curiosity and excitement. A great sense of energy filled the campus as banners in red waving and volunteers in blue hastening. 4955 undergraduate freshmen and 1335 postgraduate freshmen were admitted to GDUFS this year. And it worth mentioning that a special group of freshmen, 33 Xinjiang preparatory students autonomously cultivated by GDUFS for the first time, joined the big family of GDUFS.

Persisting in digitizing and simplifying the registration procedures, GDUFS provided the freshmen with great convenience, which has not only comforted their sense of nervous but has also wined appreciatory smiles from the parents.

Despite the sweaty shirts and soar legs, volunteers and peer guides stood fast to their positions, revealing their most heartfelt smiles and sincere greetings to the freshmen. Having been on full schedule for the big day weeks before the opening, every peer guide and volunteer was now exerting their utmost effort to provide the most attentive service for the freshmen.

“I can’t feel my arms now, but never mind, I gotta go.” said a volunteer hurrying by. Luggage of some freshmen filled his hands, and sweat dropped on his sticky shirt, yet his glowing smile was perfectly fine in the burning atmosphere.

Except for all the efforts devoted by the students, it was the orderly guidance given by the security guards as well as the in-time helping hands reached out from the maintenance crew that ensured the safety of intense opening as such.

Walking along the campus roads, the new arrivals could conveniently search every destination on the GDUFS online map. Not only could they see the banner expressing welcome in Spanish and intrigued cardboard cut-outs in the form of “Moments” in Wechat, but they could also have fun exploring the “Box of Answer” made by College of Art, in which 128 cards with mottoes were quietly waiting for the new blood.

SHI Youqi, President of GDUFS was greatly satisfied by the intense opening on North Campus. “Be ambitious, be fearless and be persistent to fight for your dreams.” said SHI. While SHI was visiting the opening on North Campus, LIU Haichun, Vice President of GDUFS enjoyed his visit to South Campus. Having seen the opening on South Campus, LIU conveyed his expectations for the freshmen that they could figure out what and how to acquire in the coming new life.
