North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou, October 12th 2017: Dialogue with Nature – the opening ceremony of Daisaku Ikeda’s photographic exhibition was held in the Lecture Hall of the Library basement on the North Campus. Attendees, including HE Chuantian, Vice President of the University, and Kenji Yoshigo, Vice Chairman of Sōka Gakkai in Japan, were present.

HE introduced the great contribution that Daisaku Ikeda has made to the global society and the Sino-Japanese friendship, and described the deep relationship between Daisaku Ikeda and GDUFS as well. In the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the China and Japan diplomatic relations, holding the photographic exhibition has a far-reaching influence on promoting friendship with Japan and further consolidating the cooperation between GDUFS and Sōka Gakkai and Soka University. He hoped that GDUFS can hold more education and cultural exchange activities hereafter.

Kenji Yoshigo delivered the thank-you speech on behalf of Daisaku Ikeda, recounting Yoshigo’s wisdoms of photography – “Only with effortlessness and sincerity can I dialogue with nature”, and wishing the exhibition can further cultural exchanges between both sides. Representing Kenji Yoshigo, he gave the latest unpublished photographs to GDUFS. Ikeda used to hold exhibitions all around the world. His works are beyond nations and boundaries, which act as a bridge connecting the world with culture.

Professor WEI Lixin, also the Director of Institute of thoughts of Daisaku Ikeda, expressed his impression of Daisaku Ikeda and the friendship between Daisaku Ikeda and GDUFS. He thought that Daisaku Ikeda was never distant for GDUFSers, which gives the photographic exhibition a special significance.
People moved to the first floor of the Library to cut the ribbon and visited the exhibition afterwards. CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and CHEN Duoyou, Dean of the Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures, attended the ceremony.
