Joanna Skoczek, Consul general of Poland in Guangzhou, as well as consuls Joanna Jachacy and Malgorzata Czausow paid an official visit to GDUFS on September 8th. During their stay, they attended the opening ceremony of the Poland Exhibition, which was held in the campus library. The Exhibition aimed to give an introduction to the language, history and culture of Poland; it also sought to enhance China-Poland relations with the One Belt One Road Initiative. SUI Guangjun, General Secretary and President of GDUFS, and Vice President JIAO Fangtai gave a warm reception to Joanna and her company.

According to SUI, since the Polish major was set up in 2014, GDUFS has had a strong partnership with the Consulate of Poland in Guangzhou. The Consulate has offered support and help to GDUFS in terms of teaching, research and cultural promoting, such as the International Forum on Polish Teaching and the National Poland Speech Competition. SUI expressed sincere thanks to the efforts made by the Consulate.
Joanna stated that, with the two countries deepening their relationship, education and cultural cooperation between the two countries has been of great importance. With the first batch of exchange students to Poland successfully returned, Joanna pointed out that the best way for the students to learn a language is to study for themselves in that particular country in order to have a deeper understanding of the language and culture behind it. She said that she is surprised at the rapid development of the Polish major in GDUFS. She also congratulated the Polish major gaining the honor of "Advanced Group”.

During the opening ceremony, JIAO emphasized the important role that Poland plays in the One Belt One Road Initiative. JIAO also stressed the importance of the founding of the Polish major.
